Says vote for Hixon
I am supporting Bill Hixon, who is part of our working-class community. Being a longtime businessman, he understands the essential need to limit government spending. Bill supports local economic development and is currently working with the Economic Development Partnership for Aiken and Edgefield counties. Bill is an avid supporter of education, and he continues to maintain that there should be accountability in education spending.
When I was first introduced to Bill, he was a high school student, working part time for his spending money and working as a volunteer fireman with the City of North Augusta. Bill has continually proven that he loves his community and is willing to do what is necessary to improve it. Bill has never failed to give back to his community. This has led to his being one of North Augusta’s most valuable leaders. Bill always stands ready to listen and lend a helping hand to any person who needs his help, with no request being too small or too large.
In reply to Mr. Hooks’ letter dated May 13: Mr. Hooks, do you think the number of children and grandchildren a candidate has or does not have is a requirement for the South Carolina state representative for District 83? Do you want this election to be based on age, sex, religion or race? I have chosen my candidate based on qualifications. Why do you think three college degrees are necessary for this S.C. state representative seat? Based on history, a number of the most successful people did not have any college education. I am very supportive of higher education, and my hat is off to all who have the opportunity and the perseverance to obtain as many degrees as possible, but I don’t think that this necessarily qualifies them for every job.
When you go to the polls to vote, remember who is going to work the hardest for you, keep your taxes as low as possible and provide results at the end of four years. That person is Bill Hixon, the most qualified candidate for the South Carolina House of Representatives District 83 seat. Every vote counts and all votes are needed. I urge each of you to vote on June 8.
